Partial Solar Eclipse 2025: Pause, Reflect & Move On

Solar eclipses have long held deep significance in Vedic astrology, often symbolising transformation, endings, and new beginnings.

On March 29, 2025, a partial solar eclipse will take place, marking 2025s first solar eclipse just days after a total lunar eclipse. This celestial event is also the final solar eclipse occurring on the Pisces-Virgo axis, making it particularly significant for those attuned to astrological shifts. While the eclipse won't be visible everywhere, its impact will be universal.

In this guide, we will explore the details of the partial solar eclipse occuring on March 29, 2025, including its timing, visibility, and astrological significance.

What is A Partial Solar Eclipse?

A partial solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, but they don't perfectly align. This means that the Moon only blocks a portion of the Sun's light.

Unlike the standard total solar eclipse we are more familiar with, in a partial solar eclipse, instead of the Sun disappearing completely, it appears like a "bite"has been taken out of it, creating a crescent shape.

A significant partial solar eclipse will be visible in northeastern Canada and parts of the northeastern United States. Up to 93% of the Sun will be obscured in some areas. Cities like New York City and Boston can expect a remarkable view at sunrise. The eclipse will be less pronounced in Europe, with varying degrees of coverage. Reykjavik, Iceland, for example, will experience about 66% obscuration. Beyond that, the partial solar eclipse will also be visible in parts of Africa, Siberia, and the Caribbean.

Why Will It Not Be Visible in India?

The partial solar eclipse happening on March 29, 2025, will not be visible in India. This is because the moons shadow doesnt cross the country when the eclipse occurs.

How Will It Impact Us?

  1. This being the last eclipse on the Pisces-Virgo axis, its time to let go of anything that has been disturbing you for a while. Reflect on the learnings and move on.
  2. Remember there is never an immediate impact of an eclipse on that day, but the effect of it is often felt when planets pass through the eclipse point in the coming days.
  3. The rising sign during the eclipse is Leo and the stellium is forming in Pisces, which happens to be the 8 th house for Leo rising. It is definitely a transformative energy. Time for some mass revelation in the coming days. You are likely to learn some secrets which were hidden.
  4. Pisces also happens to be the last sign of the Zodiac belt, representing the 12 th house of natural horoscope. This is likely to bring in some form of hospitalisation due to water borne infections. Over the year we are going to witness water related issues like tsunamis at some places, while draught at some.
  5. Venus is exalted and retrograde, and is often considered to bring in the debilitated effect. Romantic relationships can be delusional or temporary. Any decision to start or end a relationship needs to be paused. There is certainly a phase of false optimism for a while, as Venus is in conjunction with Mercury and Neptune here. Falling for a partner who is younger than you is quite likely to happen. Avoid any beauty treatment or surgeries related to beautification until the 13 th April, until Venus turns progressive.
  6. Venus will pass over the eclipse point around 12 th to 14 th May 2025. Observe what message the universe is trying to convey.
  7. Mercury is debilitated and retrograde, often considered to give a reverse effect of exaltation. So anyone who has retrograde mercury in their chart or is undergoing mercury period, then certainly something good in stores for them.
  8. Mercury will transit the eclipse point around the 25 th and 26 th April, a day to watch out for communication related matters.
  9. Saturn is not likely to transit this point this year, so let's wait for now.

Please Note: This eclipse will impact the most, to people who are running dashas of the nodes or Sun-Rahu, Moon-Rahu period. If you have any planets around the eclipse degrees, then it is going to impact the significators related to planet and rashis/houses it rules in your respective chart.

Caution : Things to Keep in Mind

  1. The eclipse is happening on a Saturday, which is Shani Amavasya and Saturn is immediately transiting into Pisces a couple of hours after the eclipse. This is certainly a noteworthy phenomenon. Avoid overthinking, take care of emotional outbursts. If you are running Saturn period (dasha) or sade-sati, then chanting Hanuman Chalisa, Hanuman Stotra for eleven times (minimum) can be highly beneficial.
  2. Strictly avoid getting into adventure sports near the sea during this time.
  3. Not a day to plan a trip. Additionally, if you are on the road, avoid over speeding.
  4. Restrain from getting into verbal & physical fights.
  5. All the important decisions like beginning a new project or buying a new vehicle can wait.
  6. Indulge in activities for calming the mind such as Chanting Mantras, Meditative & Healing Practices.
  7. Shiva Sadhana is considered to be the best. Chanting the simple yet powerful Panchakshari Shiv mantra – Om Namah Shivay would be highly recommended.
  8. Take care of your diet, avoid anything that stresses your stomach like deep fried food, too much starch, acidic or sugar as it may trigger gut issues. Sun rules our digestive system, so try fasting during the eclipse hours.
  9. Meditation, Chakra dhyana could be highly experiential and deep if one practices the same during this period.
