According to the Padma Purana, the holy month of Kartik is very dear to Lord Krishna or Vishnu, any spiritual activity done in this month gives us more benefits and Rama Ekadashi is the final Ekadashi that falls in Chaturmas. This Ekadashi falls on the waning phases on 11th of the Hindu lunar month of Kartik. Rama is the name of goddess Lakshmi and Ekadashi means 11th. This Ekadashi occurs four days prior Diwali and is also known as Kartik Krishna Ekadashi.
As the name suggests this Ekadashi is dedicated to both Lord Vishnu and goddess Lakshmi. This Ekadashi is an auspicious day to initiate the worship of Goddess Lakshmi before Diwali.
Observing the Rama Ekadashi fast relieves the devotees from past birth sins, According to the scriptures, observing the Rama Ekadashi fast is equal to or more than 100 Rajasuya Yagnas or 1000 Ashvamedha Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi both bless the devotees with all the good things in life.
